Elavon can handle the payment transaction, while JustPayFor helps you prepare what the customer is paying for. You can send a payment link, display a QR code, create a virtual basket, take a deposit or sell tickets online without building a full ecommerce website.
JustPayFor and Elavon have different roles in this process. Elavon is the payment provider, while JustPayFor provides the tools used to prepare the sale and give the customer a clear route to payment.
JustPayFor works with Elavon so that sellers can combine Elavon's payment-processing services with the sales tools available through our platform.
How does Elavon work with JustPayFor?
-
Your Elavon account
You use a suitable Elavon merchant account and complete the activation and verification required by the payment provider.
-
Connect JustPayFor
During seller account setup, you provide the information required to connect payment processing with JustPayFor.
-
The customer pays online
JustPayFor presents the offer or order, while the actual payment is processed through Elavon.
Elavon and JustPayFor have different jobs
The easiest way to understand the setup is to separate the sale from the payment-processing stage.
JustPayFor
You create the offer, payment link, QR code, virtual basket, deposit, ticket or other sales flow. The customer can see what they are paying for and the amount due.
Elavon
Elavon processes the transaction, provides the payment methods enabled for your merchant account and handles settlement according to your agreement.
What payment methods can Elavon support?
Elavon provides payment solutions for online transactions as well as other sales channels.
Depending on your market, merchant agreement and account configuration, customers may have access to methods such as:
- Visa and Mastercard,
- digital wallets,
- bank-based payment methods,
- Apple Pay and Google Pay where available,
- other local or alternative payment methods supported for your market.
You should not assume that every payment method is enabled for every merchant. The final set of options available to your customers depends on the services activated on your Elavon account.
You do not need a full online shop
A payment gateway is often associated with a traditional ecommerce website, but accepting online payments does not always require you to build a complete online shop.
JustPayFor can provide the sales layer, while Elavon handles the payment. This means the combination can also be useful when an order begins by phone, email, WhatsApp, social media or a direct conversation with the customer.
Scan to pay
The customer scans a QR code, opens your prepared offer and continues to the payment handled through your connected provider.
Explore QR payments →Payment link
Once the amount has been agreed, send the customer a ready-to-pay link by text message, email or messaging service.
Explore payment links →Virtual basket
Prepare an order containing several products or services and show the customer a clear summary before they pay.
Explore virtual baskets →Deposits and bookings
Take payment before an appointment, service, workshop or bespoke order and confirm the booking once payment has been made.
Explore deposits and bookings →Online ticket sales
Create an event, sell tickets online and use your connected payment provider to process the customer's transaction.
Explore online ticket sales →Online fundraisers
Where your organisation and payment-provider requirements allow it, JustPayFor can also be used to prepare an online fundraising page.

An existing relationship with Elavon does not automatically mean that you need to create another account simply to use JustPayFor.
Whether your current account can be used depends on its configuration and on the online payment services already enabled for your business.
For example, if you currently use an Elavon card terminal in your premises, you should not automatically assume that the same agreement also includes the online payment services required for integration with JustPayFor.
It is therefore worth checking your existing setup before configuring the connection.
Elavon is not only about card terminals
Many businesses know Elavon primarily through countertop and mobile card terminals. Elavon also provides solutions for accepting payments online.
For JustPayFor, this online part is particularly important. Your customer can be somewhere else, open the payment link or offer on their phone and complete the transaction online.
This does not mean that JustPayFor replaces a card terminal. The two channels can serve different purposes. At a traditional till, a terminal may still be the most convenient option, while a link or QR code can be more useful in other sales situations.
Example: a customer orders a service by phone
-
Agree the price
The customer contacts your business and you agree the scope of the service and the final amount.
-
Send the payment
You prepare the payment in JustPayFor and send the customer a ready-to-use link.
-
Elavon processes the transaction
The customer continues to payment and uses one of the methods available for your Elavon merchant account.
What about local payment methods?
The payment methods customers expect can vary considerably between countries and markets.
Depending on your Elavon account and location, additional local or alternative payment methods may be available alongside cards and digital wallets.
The important distinction remains the same: the payment method is provided through Elavon, while JustPayFor prepares the sale and gives the customer a route to checkout.
A JustPayFor QR code is also not a payment method itself. It simply opens the prepared offer or payment page. The customer then chooses from the payment options made available by the connected provider.
Where does the money go?
JustPayFor does not collect money from the customer and then pay it out to the seller later.
The actual transaction is processed by Elavon and funds are settled according to the terms of the merchant's Elavon account.
JustPayFor can receive the payment result and update the relevant order, but it does not hold your sales revenue.
Elavon Dashboard and JustPayFor
The two systems serve different purposes.
Your Elavon account remains the place for payment-provider functions such as transactions, settlements and payment-service configuration.
JustPayFor focuses on what you are selling, who is paying, how much they need to pay and how you share the payment with them.
We are therefore not trying to replace the Elavon merchant tools. JustPayFor adds a sales layer in front of the payment process.
How much does Elavon cost with JustPayFor?
monthly JustPayFor fee
JustPayFor does not charge a monthly subscription or its own additional percentage fee on the value of each sale.
Payment-provider charges
Transaction-processing costs and any other applicable fees depend on your Elavon merchant agreement and the services enabled for your account.
It is therefore useful to separate the cost of using JustPayFor from the cost of processing the actual transaction through the payment provider.
Elavon or another payment provider?
JustPayFor does not require every seller to use exactly the same payment provider.
Your choice should depend on factors such as the market you operate in, the payment methods you need, commercial terms and any payment services your business already uses.
Elavon may be a particularly natural option for businesses that already work with the provider or want to use the same payment relationship across different sales channels.
